A Do Not Resuscitate Order or DNR is a specialized advanced directive. A DNR is a legal decision not to have cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) if a client’s heart stop or if a client stops breathing.

An Advance Directive is a legal document that allows clients to make decisions about medical and end-of-life care ahead of time. They give clients ways to communicate wishes to others when they are unable to do so.

Burnout

A state of physical, emotional, psychological, and/or spiritual exhaustion. It can be manifested by cynicism or a lack of satisfaction in working with clients to resolve their problems.
