What led to the development of the Aztec Civilization was an alliance building. Texcoco and Tenochtitlan formed an alliance together and had a lot of power and resources. As a result, Triple Alliance formed. Later it became the capital of the Aztec Empire.

  • Mexico city is on a former lake called Texcoco. Today, the city has 1800 pumps to help remove water. However, rain water doesn’t reach the aquifers.
  • People don’t have access to fresh water. Have to rely on trucks to bring water. City buildings are skinking, destroying themselves over time
  • People are creating systems to harvest fresh water

Document A illustrates the Inca farming potatoes using terrace farming. As a result of the Columbian exchange, which began in 1492, crops made their way from the New World, to the Old World. This led to potatoes becoming a staple crop in Ireland as shown in Document B.
