Breathe deeply from abdomen (expanding diaphragm) - allows more oxygen in
Instructions
- sit comfortably, back straight
- breathe in through nose, stomach should rise and chest doesn’t move
- breathe out through mouth, contract abdomen, stomach falls, chest doesn’t move
- repeat
4.7.8 Breathing
- inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, exhale for 8 seconds
7.11 breathing
- breathe in and out through nose-
- inhale for 7 seconds, exhale for 11 seconds (can do 3/6 if too hard)
Progressive muscle relaxation
Begin with some deep breaths
Shift attention to body part (starting with foot), focus on the way it feels
Slowly tense the muscles in that part, squeeze tightly, hold for 10, release
Focus on tension flowing away, keep breathing deeply
Repeat around your body (feet > calves > thighs > ass > stomach > chest > back > arms > hands > neck/shoulders > face)

- should have a conversation with supervisor to tell needs

- safety most important, immediately tell police
