A

through socialisation - if have coach who has pos att and praises perf then more likely dev a pos att towards sport, atts can be neg if have neg role model, experience or feedback

A

  • can be changed over time by pos or neg experiences
  • cognitive dissonance + persuasive communication

  • state of tension where awareness of belief and behaviour being inconsistent

A
  • attempt to put pressure on one or more att components se perf becomes uneasy and is motivated to chnage existing attitudes
  • this can be done by :
  • providing new info to challenge existing cognition
  • make activities and sessions more fun/enjoyable to challenge att
  • using rewards - reinforcement - pos affective comp
  • role models to promote activity

A

A
  • comm needs to be persistent, relevant and important
  • atts more likely to vhsnge if coming from high staus or respected person
  • timing of info is key - e.g ath lost so use loss to emphasise point
