Mount escape

A
  1. Key detail capture the knee after you swip the leg. Go to knee shielf knee on belly, then immediatly into underhooking attacking half gaurd if your have the juice (# if he has and underhook, clasp hands and push against his shoulder)

frame on hip before you bridge and straighten your leg

How to escape the back

A
  1. Cover the hand that is trying to choke you (focus on covering his thumb with opposite hand)
  2. Turn away from his choking arm
  3. Lift you head forward (nod) and put it to the mat, shift to put your shoulder on the mat.
  4. With your top hand, you can push against his hook and bring your bottom knee high,above his bottom hooking ankle.
  5. hook over the top of his bottem anhkle and bring your elbow to the floor
  6. frame with both hands against his top thigh to stop him mounting
  7. put the bottom of your (bottom) knee over the top of his knee (top leg)
  8. turn into him to get to half gaurd.

Scarf hold escapes

A
  1. Bump and elbow. Bridge and push him towards his feet, with the aim of getting his hand to base.- once swim your free arm aroung his back ready to block his attempts at grabbing your arm back- pull your trapped elbow in so it is on his hip- if you can hook his leg, you can then roll him over you back- if not come ou the back.
  2. Leg over head- gead his head up (use your fore head on his chin and then push against his jaw- Get you writst under his chin, make a fist and drive his head back- Walk your body around untill you can throw your far leg over his head- come up on top
  3. Knee in but- clasp hands, hugging him, bridge with hip high- put your knee in his but- scoot his hip over your knee and toll to the other side

  1. Arm roll. get his head up- bring your trapped arm down to his elbow (you may need to bump to get this), clamp your hands together and roll over.- if he lets go of you arm, drop your elbow to his hip+ push against his upper body and shrimp out.

Turtel escape

A

-block his choking hand (thumb inside his wrist) with your opposite hand
- shift your weight forward coming up on your knees and turn you head in the direction of his body, bring you far knee to your far elbow
-lift your knee higher than his knee and catch his ankle.
-roll over your back.
- get you elbow to the floor
- keep everything tight
-put your legs between his as he comes on top

A good counter to having your guard passed

A

As he passes, make sure you get to double underhooks.
He will pin you (lets say on your right side) , but you can easily get on your side. Put your ear on his chest.
- grab his ankle and feed it between your legs to trap him in half guard.
- reach up for a tight waist.
- grab his far pants at the knee with your bottom hand.
- roll through sweep

Knee elbow escape side control

A
  1. Defense positions= half your forearm inside his hip to stop him coming over your head, and your knee in his hip with your foot higher than your knee to stop him mounting.
  2. Small bridge and push his head with bicep (bicep) by his ear, to get his head over yours,
  3. This should give you space to insert your knee, so that your knee and elbow join
  4. now put your knee inside between his legs, and straighten your body, then swipe his leg with your other foot to get to half gaurd.
  5. push his head again to great space to insert a knee shield (again with your foot higher than your knee)
  6. Push with your knee shield and start working the upper body frames

How to release pressure when in north south

A

Push against opponent with hands.
Rock back and kick up like you are kicking a ball in the air. Keep doing this until you have created enough space to begin your escapes

@ revert from north south back to half gaurd

A

Take your hand that is behind his arm and frame on the far hip, ten take your other arm and frame on the near side of his head (so your left arm frames on the left side of his face and your right arm frames on his right hip)
Move around into classic side control positon

Jason S, options once you’ve created space

A
  1. Put right forearm under his neck
    Swing your legs from side to side, and as you do shoot your right arm through and cup his shoulder, come up
  2. Push against his neck with both hands, then curl up and try to get a shin under his bicep, then a foot on his shoulder and spin back (this is an inversion)
