Contact Force
Happens when objects come into direct contact with each other.
Ground reaction force
Exerted on the body by the ground.
Joint reaction force
When two bones act on each other across a joint.
Friction force
Surfaces of objects rubbing against each other.
Drag force
Air or water opposing movement.
Inertial force
Resistance to change in velocity.
Elastic force
Resistance to chance in shape.
Non-Contact force
Acts on objects without coming into contact with them.
Gravitational force
attracts a body or object toward the center of the earth.
Internal Force
Muscles relaxing and contracting, pulling on tendons + other organs and systems.
Newton’s First Law
Inertia - A body continues in a state of rest or uniform velocity unless acted upon by an external force.
Newton’s Second Law
Acceleration - When a force acts on an object, the acceleration experienced by the object is proportional to the size of the force and takes place in the direction in which the force acts.
Newton’s Third Law
Reaction - For every action their is an equal and opposite reaction.
