When to issue a Mayday?
Transmit a Mayday immediately when in a life threatening situation, or when others are in a life threatening situation.
How do you send a Mayday? (5)
Utilise the Radio Duress Alarm (where available) to initiate the Mayday, and immediately transmit the following:
* “Mayday, Mayday, Mayday”
* Name of person transmitting or unit/call sign
* Location
* Situation report/assignment/task
* Resources/assistance
When to issue “Red, Red, Red”
Transmit a “Red, Red, Red” signal to send an urgent message where extreme radio congestion exists, in order to gain priority access to Communications Centre and the fireground channel(s).

Evacuation: 3 blasts at 1 second duration (wait 10 secons and repeat)

Resume operations: 1 blast for 3 seconds followed by 1 blast for 1 second
