RED - for decontaminated BAs, PPE & PPC requiring industrial cleaning or BAs and equipment where crews will redeploy.
GREEN - for clean BAs, PPE & PPC that have been through on-scene decontamination.
Minimum PPE/PPC for decontamination: (5)
> Structure Fire / Wildfire PPC
- Consider disposable coveralls and donning BA
> P2 mask

Safety Glasses
Radio Disposition Signals
2-7 = Critical Incident Stress Management Team to be notified
8-3 = deceased person
5-6 = VicPol required
4-0 = VicPol required urgently
5-5 = Hostile Act, significant violence or terrorism.
SPADRA Steps: (6)
> Evaluate the situation, tasks and persons at risk
> Select systems of work
> Assess the chosen systems of work
> Decide if risks proportionate to benefits
> Modify - attempt to introduce additional control measures
> Proceed with tasks

Who can advise on most appropriate on-scene decon and bagging process?
Scientific Officer or HAZMAT technicians
Bagging Tags
RED - Contaminated with chemical
Require specialist cleaning and may present risk to operational crews or cleaning contractors.
Only transport in District Car or general pod where safe to do so.
YELLOW - Decontaminated
Contaminant removed but still needs industrial cleaning.
Transport in pumper PPC compartment.
GREEN - Decontaminated and ready for use
Transport as per usual.

> Ops Commander or other delegated Commander

> Specialist instructor/operator where required
Code 3 calls (unless OIC determines otherwise)

Debriefs
By who and when?
Ensure all debriefs are completed by the OIC or IC.
Conduct as soon as practicable after the incident and document using the FRV Debrief template.
Ensure the following areas are covered in the debrief:

health and safety
resolve
improvement
