Some- Partitives

2. Alcuni/alcune (if plural noun)
   a. Alcuni amici giocano a calcio. “Some friends play soccer.”
   b. Alcune persone sono più sensibili. “Some people are more sensitive.
   c. Ho alcuni meloni.-“I have some melons.
   d. Hanno comprato alcuni giochi per i figli di Andrea. “They bought some toys for Andrea’s children.”
3. No “di”, when the partitive occurs within a prepositional phrase. We use alcuni/alcune to substitute for the partitives or simply omit the partitivo:
   a. Sono andati ad alcune feste durante il weekend. “They went to some parties during the weekend.”
   b. Sono andato a teatro con alcuni amici. (also possible: con amici)
   c. Non ho alcun tempo. “I don’t have any time.” (Any)
4. Qualche- (always singular noun)
   a. Never use with uncountable items such as acqua (“water”), pasta, sale (“salt”), etc.
   b. Vorrei […] qualche pera. “I’d like a few pears.”
   c. [Prendo] qualche zucchina. “[I’ll have] some zucchinis.”
   d. When using qualche together with a noun that is the subject of the sentence, the verb will be in the third person singular (lui, lei).
5. Un po di (uncountable)
   a. We commonly use the pattern un po’ di (“some,” “a little”) with uncountable nouns.
   A. Mi piace bere il caffè con un po’ di latte. “I like drinking coffee with a bit of milk.”
   B. Sento un po’ di ansia. “I feel some anxiety.”
6. Di + definite article
   a. Hai dei bellissimi fiori in giardino.-You have some beautiful flowers in the garden.” (dei=di+i)
   b. Ci sono delle melanzane in frigo.-“There are some eggplants in the fridge.” (delle=di+le)
7. Qualunque and Qualsiasi (have the same meaning: “any.”)

b. Qualunque cosa tu dica mi fa arrabbiare./Qualsiasi cosa tu dica mi fa arrabbiare. “Anything you say makes me angry.”
c. Qualunque proposta è ben accetta./Qualsiasi proposta è ben accetta. “Any suggestion is well accepted.”
8. Qualcosa (“Something”)
a. We often use this pronoun in the constructions qualcosa di + masculine singular adjective or qualcosa da + infinitive verb.
b. Ho bevuto qualcosa di freddo.
c. Vado a comprare qualcosa da mangiare- I go buy something to eat
d. C’e qualcosa di interessante in tv stasera

9. To express an indefinite quantity (“some,” “several,” “a few…”), you can use:
   a. Delle fragole (di + article plus plural noun)
   b. Alcune fragole
   c. Qualche fragola
10. Some other aggettivi indefiniti are tanto (“a lot,” “much,” or “many”) and poco (“a little” or”few”). Adjectives must agree with the noun they refer to.( “Parecchia”)
    a. C’è qualche nuvola in cielo stasera.-“There are some clouds in the sky tonight.”
    b. C’è tanto/poco rumore. “There’s a lot/little of noise.”
    c. Tanti/Pochi studenti dormono in classe. “Many/few students sleep in class.”
    d. Ha tanta/poca frutta.-“You have a lot/little of fruit.”
    e. A Carnevale si vedono tante/poche maschere. “At the Carnival, you can

12. Chuinche (anyone; whoever)- followed by condtional or subjunctive
    a. Chuinque venga alla festa deve portare un regalo- whoever comes to the party must bring a gift
