When is the sterile flight deck period?

Answer 1

The Sterile Flight Deck Period is from:

-the last door closed on departure until the Seat Belts sign is switched to AUTO/OFF; and

-from the Prepare Cabin PA to arrival at the terminal.

During the Sterile Flight Deck Period, PAs may be made subject to operational requirements and workload.

Question 2

What additional fuel requirements does Wellington have?

Answer 2

If the TAF indicates;
0-30kts: nil
30-44kts: severe low level windshear & turbulence (700kg planned additional fuel)
greater than 44kts: a full destination alternate
