1
Q

Privileges and limitations of type rating

A

Limitations - flight review every 2 years (on type), demonstrate proficiency (part 121 training and checking system), can only fly 600-900s (ng’s) and classics and max’s with differences training.

Plus all your personal licensing requirements.

A

Standard, nadp type 2 (icao b) = Accelerate normally at 1000ft agl, flap up manoeuvre speed to 3000ft (input in vnav climb page), accelerate to enroute climb speed

Nadp Type 1 = thrust reduction 1000ft, v2 +10-20kts, accelerate at 3000ft

Icao a = thrust reduction 1500ft, v2 +10-20kts, accelerate at 3000ft

Q

Does the appropriate nnc need to be actioned if a master caution appears during the recall check after pushback? (And the associated caution light disappears when the caution is cancelled)

A

No, the appropriate ddg should be actioned, because this is indicating a minor system fault (usually a system with 2 redundant components)

Q

When can atc clear you for a Day and night visual approach?

A

Day:
Within 30nm of aerodrome
Pic has established and can continue flight to aerodrome using continued visual reference to ground or water
at least 5km viz or aerodrome in sight

Night:
Within 30nm of aerodrome or if being vectored, flight is assigned mva and given heading or tracking instructions to intercept final or within the circling area.
Pic has established and can continue flight to aerodrome using continued visual reference to ground or water
at least 5km viz

19
Q

Missed approach gradient and obstacle clearance (enr 1.5)

20
Q

When can a “pilot” commence a visual approach?

A

When atc clearance obtained (can’t leave star tracking until within 5nm (day) or aerodrome in sight and within circling area (night)

Day:
Within 30nm of aerodrome and aboveu msa
IC5 or aerdrome in sight
Can maintain altitude not less than 500ft above lower level cta unless cleared by atc

Night:
Day reqs except no 30nm rule and;
Aerodrome with instrument approach that crew are authorised to use - within prescribed circling area or,
Aerodrome with no instrument approach that crew are authorised for - within 3nm of aerodrome reference point or,
Within 5nm (7nm ils/gls), established on centreline, not below “on slope” (papi) or,
Within 10nm (14nm, 16L & 34L sydney) established not below full scale ils/gls glide path deflection

21
Q

Missed approach gradient and obstacle clearance (enr 1.5)

22
Q

What AOB are procedures based on? (Enr 1.5)

A

25 degrees or rate one whichever is less

23
Q

Missed approach climb gradient and bank angle?

A

2.5% and 15 degrees

24
Q

What AOB are procedures based on? (Enr 1.5)

A

25 degrees or rate one whichever is less

25
How much extra hold fuel do you require if you don’t want to hold an alternate and conditions are forecast below minima
The time until the forecast improves plus 30minutes
26
When do you need a suitable alternate?
When the following conditions are forecast 30 mins prior to eta until your eta: Sct cloud below alternate minima Viz below alternate minima Xw more than aircraft design limitation Prob 30 - fog, mist, dust, thunderstorms, severe turbulence
27
If an inter or tempo is issued how much hold fuel must be factored?
Inter - 30minutes Tempo - 60minutes
28
What are ifr alternate minima?
They are aerodrome specific and listed on the aerodrome charts or the flight plan (qantas)
29
Documents required on board
All flights: FCOM (2 electronic copies) QRH (1 hard copy) Jeppesen airways manuals Tech log Flight plan Aeronautical info Provisional and final loadsheet Notoc Flight crew licence and medical Certificate and documents folder; -air operator certificate -Certificate of Airworthiness -Air Operator’s Certificate -Certificate of Registration -Radio Station Licence (front page only) -Certificate of Insurance -Disinsection Certificate. Pax list Manifest and declaration of cargo Operations specifications Noise characteristics certificate

Atpl (ifr) recency, currency and proficiency requirements?
Recency: Either - complete OPC using IFR within last 3 months - participate and an approved operators training and checking system - 3 instrument approaches in last 90 days (1 must be in an aircraft 2 can be in a sim). Must fly the type of approaches you want to keep current e.g. 2d or 3d Additionally you have to pass an OPC (IFR) every 12 months Currency: Flight review, medical Proficiency Must be competent on type (because of class rating system) things like w&b, navigations, systems
