Position of Arms
Arms initiate movement from trunk (arm pits) as opposed to the distal end
Arms move within the frame
Monitor for Arms Position
Avoid hypertension of the elbow
Relationship to the shoulders (forward shoulders = internal arm rotation = shoulder issues)
Cueing for shoulder position
Use the armpits to pull arms down and back, not the hands
Avoid hypertension of elbows/micro-bend elbows
Find opposition/lengthen arms while plugging into socket
Move arms through range of motion with resistance
Modifications of Arm Position
During supine work: palms up to help alleviate a forward or internally rotated shoulder
Micro-bend the elbow
Smaller range of motion
Bypass the elbow joint
