Q

What is CISM?

A

Critical incident stress management. A system composed of two different approaches to dealing with stress. Debriefing or defusing. Debriefing is when you talk about the entire situation and all it’s components with an professional counselor 24-72 hour after the incident. Defusing is 8 hours after and more loosely structured, as the people immediately affected talk to each other and calm down and gather their feelings, etc.
