What does the GND CTL pb do when ON and Auto?

Answer 1

ON - in blue, Manually selects the DFDR and the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) to ON when the aircraft is on the ground. The DFDR is energized.

Auto - follows the lights out philosophy of Airbus. Remains on.

Question 2

What does the CVR Erase pb do?

Answer 2

If pressed for more than 2 seconds, erases the recording under to conditions:

1. The aircraft is on the ground
2. The parking brake is on

Question 3

What is the CVR test pb?

Answer 3

If pressed and held, activates the CVR test if:

1. CVR is on (one engine is running) or
2. GND CTL is pressed on (no engine running)
3. After 5 minutes after the aircraft is energized with electrical power and the parking brake is on
