What is standardisation
Procedures must be kept the same every time a study is repeated
What are investigator effects
Anything an investigator does that has an effect on a participants performance other than what was intended
What are demand characteristics
Cues that inadvertently communicate the aims of the study to participants
What are confounding variables

What is social desirability bias
Participants provide answers which put them in a positive light
What is face validity
Whether a self report measure LOOKS like what it’s measuring
What is concurrent validity
Measures how well a new test correlates with an existing validated test that studies the same thing
