17
Q

what does it mean if there’s an engine stop light but the engine is still running?

A

alternator being faulty

18
Q

name equipment that would prevent you from taking brake on TW4?

A

FILL IN BLANK

19
Q

if the AWS sound will not cancel what will be the cause? and solution ?

A

parked over a grid, temp isolate and move train

20
Q

one or more engines revert to idle what are the possible causes of this and what actions?

A

hydrostatic oil low making engine overheat and revert to idle?

21
Q

under normal running conditions the battery charge negative fuse has blown or control fuse has blown (positive fuse) - what will happen now and how will you rectify it?

A

brake application will require assistance and will have to retract electrical connections on bsi coupler to avoid fault transferal

22
Q

if you attempt to shut engines down from cab and they won’t stop why is this and how to fix?

A

could be start stop button is broke so will have to isolate engine, possible done by tripping LCCB but can go outside and do it, isolate fuel IC

23
Q

name all IC in driving cab?

A

heater IC
wipers
horn
parking brake

24
Q

where would you isolate brakes on 150?

A

it’s next to the BCU on the drivers side

25
if your losing air what could be the cause and how rectify ?
isolate relevant IC
26
on prep you find out there is no lights working what’s most likely cause?
MCB has tripped, aux battery isolated or dead
27
on prep you find the engine stop light out and the engines shut down when energizing desk what’s the likely causes what are actions ?
engine could be isolated, train control cb could be tripped or flat battery or isolated battery
28
if you have positive negative battery charges what happens?
brake application on all vehicles can’t move need assistance
29
which conditions can cause gearbox fault lights ?
TCA MCB tripped
30
if speedo starts to fluctuate what causes this and what actions take?
wheel slipping, let WSP do it job but if not put into emergency
31
how would you rectify a door that’s stuck open?
on a 150/2 use Egress handle to drain air out and push shut door then manually lock it if 150/1 and not on a EEG door then must drain DRIC using shrader hose to get air out of all doors then go round manually lock all doors
32
how would you notice a leak on air suspension
noise and train leaning
33
what would you do if found any equipment isolated before setting off
speak to maintenance
34
what are the possibility’s of setting off with not having set the drivers seat correctly
could become distracted
35
what should you do if found not to be moved board or stop board ?
check who put it there and if they’re done with what they’re doing
36
what are you to check before making any shunting moves ?
check with signaller or DP/shunted etc depending on where you are
37
which driving cab must be driven from and what are the exceptions?
driving from leading can always apart from 2 exceptions ?????? find out reminder
38
what would you do if propelling on depot and agreed comms failed?
come to a stop
39
depot protection??
derailers pos lights fouling points audible warning in shed
40
what would you do if aware of unusual noise?
come to a stop investigate
41
position lights meaning on depot
proceed at caution only as far as the next signal
42
found you’ve left your unit foul what do you do?
let DP or signaller know
