Q
  1. What does the solid green dot along the vertical flight path vector of the Vertical Situation Display (VSD) indicate?
A

This solid green dot is called the Range to Target Speed Dot (RTSD), and indicates where the aircraft will achieve the FMC or MCP target speed.

EXTRA CREDIT:
If the dot is unfilled and placed at the edge of the display, the speed will not be achieved within the display area.

Q
  1. What standby instrument(s) are available?
A
  • Standby magnetic compass
  • ISFD which includes;
    • Attitude
    • Airspeed
    • Altitude
    • Heading
    • Loc/GS
17
Q
  1. How is the Integrated Standby Flight Display (ISFD) powered?
A

An independent battery pack charged by the battery bus.

EXTRA CREDIT: this battery pack can power the ISFD for approximately 150 minutes with the BAT switch ON. Turning the BAT switch OFF removes all power from the ISFD.

18
Q
  1. Which displays utilize failure flags to display instrument failures?
