Versed dosage and administration

Adult: IV primary route
1. 2mg increments to max dose of .1mg/kg or 10mg which ever is less
2. Half dose > 60yo
Pediatric: IN primary route
1. .2mg/kg IM or .1mg/kg IV slowly over 2 min in no greater than 2mg increments not to exceed 5mg
Adult and Pediatric for seizures: .2mg/kg of 5mg/ml concentration

Versed adverse reactions

Answer 8

1. Hypotension, amnesia, respiratory depression, laryngospasm, bronchospasm, bradycardia, tachycardia, PVCs
2. May decrease ICP in head injuries
3. Causes nasal burning after administration
