PM & project staff very focused - no need for training etc.
Progression often non existent - staff leave the organisation at the end of the project
What are key features of a Matrix organisation?
Structure drawn from across functions in a business (PM may utilise Finance staff for duration of project)
Confusion can be a problem - Project staff have conflicting line management reporting lines, both to the PM and their functional head of department.
Progression is convoluted and not necessarily straightforward
