What is done before bunkering?

A
  1. Refer to COMPANY BUNKERING CHECKLIST
    1.Bunker Plan is created. This includes how much or each fuel is required, what grade of fuel, sequence of tanks. Signed by Chief and the Stability officer
  2. Material Safety Data Sheet
    3.Overflows are emptied
    3.5 take bunker checklist
    4.Remote valves have been tested
  3. No smoking signs, Public announcement, hot work stopped and red flag raised
  4. Everyone is familiar with SOPEP
    7.SOPEP is put in standby
  5. Fuel tank levels have been tested and recorded
  6. Bunkering hose has been pressure tested and copy of certificate
    10.Scruppers are blocked
    10.5 Ensure the other bunker station is blanked
  7. Drip Flange is in Place
  8. Suppliers tanks have been sounded
  9. Connect hose
  10. Communication with the bunker facility

What is to done during bunkering?

A
  1. Techincal personel in bunker station
  2. Maintain bunker line temperature and pressure
  3. Check tank level often
  4. Collect samples - 1 for lab tests, 1 for facility, 1 for ship storage, 1 for marpol

What is done after bunkering?

  1. Hoses depressurized and blown through
  2. Record all tank levels and quantities
  3. Bunker Delivery Note filled out and seals logged
  4. Remove hose and Blank connections
  5. Inform Bridge
  6. Fill out Oil Record Book
