Remove the erosion plugs
Shine a light through the plugs
Ensure the quantity plunger closes first
Then when the timing plunger closes, look at the fly wheel for the timing

Remove fuel pump
Set up dial gauge on guide block
Ensure followers are on base circle of cam
Measure the distance between the adjustment screw and the top of the guide block
This distance can be altered as per the records in the manual
