FCDC

A

Flight Control Data Concentrator

There are 2, and they aquire data from the ELACs and SECs and send it to the EIS and CFDS.

Q

How are the flaps and slats affected if only GREEN hydraulic pressure is available?

14
Q

If WTBs activate due to a flap asymmetry, how are the slats affected?

A

Slats can still operate normally, only flaps are inhibited.

15
Q

What is ALPHA LOCK?

A

This function inhibits slat retraction from 1 to 0 with a high AOA and low airspeed.

16
Q

What happens to the ailerons when the flaps are extended?

A

The ailerons droop

17
Q

When will the ground spoilers automatically retract?

A

During a touch and go or balked landing with at least one thrust lever above 20%

18
Q

What conditions will inhibit speed brake extension?

A

active AOA protection

Thrust levers above the MCT detent

ALPHA FLOOR

19
Q

What happens to the THS after landing?

A

Resets to zero

20
Q

Abnormal Alternate Law

A

Triggered by exceeding approximately double the NORMAL LAW limits

Allows the aircraft to be recovered from an unusual attitude

21
Q

ALPHA MAX

A

The maximum angle of attack allowed in NORMAL LAW, indicated by the top of the red

22
Q

High AOA Protection

A

When the AOA exceeds ALPHA PROT nose up trim ceases and AOA is now proportional to side stick deflection, not to exceed ALPHA MAX even with full aft sidestick.

23
Q

How are the flight controls controlled and actuated?

A

Electronically controlled and hydraulically actuated

24
Q

How is NORMAL LAW indicated on the PFD?

A

Green = for pitch, bank and overspeed limits, and amber/black (ALPHA PROT) airspeed tape

25
How is ALTERNATE LAW indicated on the PFD?
Amber Xs replace the green = signs indicating lack of NORMAL LAW protections, and speed tape indications change to VLS and VSW | VSW = stall warning
26
What does the Sidestick Priority (red arrow) light indicate?
The other pilot has gained sidestick priority
27
In NORMAL LAW what does the sidestick command for pitch and roll?
Load factor and roll rate
28
NORMAL LAW High Speed Protection
If Vmo/Mmo plus a predetermined factor is exceeded the system induces a pitch-up input to limit the speed/mach In NORMAL LAW the pilot cannot override a protection
29
Is there flare mode in ALTERNATE LAW?
No In ALTERNATE LAW when the gear is lowered the aircraft degrades into DIRECT LAW | The exception is subsequent to recovery from abnormal attitude
30
When is there a direct relationship between sidestick and control surface deflection?
When in DIRECT LAW and on the ground
