Describe the technique for places a Robert jones bandage

Answer 1

Tongue depressors with tape on them either laterally and medially, or cranially and caudally. If wound is present must put down primary bandage layer. Begin placing secondary layer (roll cotton) as distally as possible, while still leaving toes out, and secure it by wrapping around a couple of times. Begin to wrap proximally making sure to overlap 50% and wrap until you’ve reached the inguinal/axillary area. Make sure to compress as you’re wrapping and use enough cotton to create a cylinder shape. Take the tape off of the tongue depressors and twist up to secure it on either side to the cotton. Apply the 3rd layer starting distal and working proximal with 50% overlap.
