three types of body awareness
interoception, proprioception, spatial
-proprioception:
being able to tell the position of someone without looking directly at them.
-spatial:
being able to understand their body’s position within space.
-daily spatial activities:
driving, exercising, sports, walking around
-developmental milestones in children:
stand (1 yr), run (1.5 yr), kick/throw a ball (2 yr), climb and pedal a tricycle (3 yr), hop on one foot (4 yr), do a somersault (5 yr)
-1st law of motion:
An object in motion will stay in motion unless it is hit with an external force
-2nd law of motion
states that the acceleration of motion is based on its mass and the force applied.
-3rd law of motion
states that for every action has an equal and opposite reaction (ham)
-four main elements of biomechanics:
dynamics, kinematics, kinetics, statics
discrete skills
obvious starting and stopping points
-cyclical:
continous
interoception
aware of your internal state (hunger, thirst, or your heartbeat)
