A

This refers to what we have observed before or are observing (Better if performer is of same ability level).

If we watch others perform and be successful, then we are more likely to experience high self efficacy.

A

If we are encouraged to try a particular activity, our efficacy in that situation may increase.

Positive reinforcement can also increase self-efficacy but this is also dependent on who is providing it.

A

ncourage attribution of any previous failure or learned helplessness to controllable/internal factors/unstable factors

Give encouragement/praise/reward/positive reinforcement lifestyle shows aspects of healthy living/verbal persuasion

Give them anxiety management strategies/emotional control/control arousal

Give early success to raise confidence/highlight previous success

See others achieve/vicarious experiences

what is emotional arousal

A

Our perceptions of how aroused we are can effect our confidence in a particular situation. Eg. If you feel calm, your confidence may be higher or vice versa.

You are more likely to feel confidence is you can relax and use imagery to focus on performance.
