Q

What does a correlational study look at?

A

Looks at two sets of data and measures the relationship between them and not the cause and effect.
Cant measure the variables

Q

What is a strength of correlational studies?

A

Usefulness : You can see how two things are related together
Then design experiments to find out why
Correlations can provide the basis for further research

Q

What is the weaknesses of correlational studies?

A

Low internal validity : cant establish cause and effect as a third factor may have caused both
- confounding variables : These variables have an effect on the variables which decrease the validity
- Can’t tell which one came first : direction of causality
