Purpose of Drug and Alcohol policy

A
  • no employee works whilst under influence
  • no employee sells/gives away/consumes illegal drugs/alcohol whilst on duty
  • no employee is taking any prescribed/non-prescibed medication which may impair their ability without first informing manager/control

All aspects of the absence from work reporting process

A
  • Call Absence Hotline in advance of start of duty
  • If not possible personally to arrange for someone else to inform company
  • Inform TCS at least 12 hours before your next rostered turn
  • Short periods of sickness require self-certification form + return to work interview
  • 7+ days require doctor certificate
  • 4 weeks+ may be required to undergo resumption of work medical before driving

Action when having to take prescribed/non-prescribed medications/drugs

A
  • Inform manager of details to allow for medicine check to take place
  • Don’t take until check comes back

Action required to maintain and certify traction/route competence

A
  • If not worked for specific period of time you must notify Driver Manager in writing requesting refresher
  • MYB to BAN - 3 months
  • BSJ to OXF - 6 months
  • Class 165/8 - 6 months
  • If feel unsure at any time then can request refresher
