11.7 Transfer Evaluations:
It isn’t uncommon for employee to work for different supervisors during rating period, which could result in vague, incomplete, & inconsistent reports of performance. So, following procedures required:
1. Each employee transferred to another supervisor/element will be evaluated by his immediate supervisor & reviewed by next higher authority at change of each duty assignment if __ months or more of an evalmperiod has elapsed.

**Similarly, when a supervisor is transferred/duty assignment changed, supervisor evaluates each subordinate who’s been under his immediate supervision for majority of employee’s eval period.

11.7 Performance Evals/ Reviewer:
The reviewer doesn’t have authority to make __ changes on any eval. Should a difference of opinion occur which can’t be resolved, points of contention will be thoroughly documented in an appropriate paper or electronic format, as determined by HRO. The contested eval will be resolved by supervisors in chain-of-command or, if necessary, by Sheriff.

Permanent employees who have received overall evals of Unsatisfactory or Needs Improvement may request a review of the contested Eval via MDSO grievance procedure.

Sheriff can:
1. Recommend changes or alterations
2. Return eval unchanged

If Sheriff decision unacceptable to employee, they may continue appeal w/in 10 calendar days after receipt of Sheriff’s decision by written request to HRD Director.

Performance Report Restrictions:
If disciplinary action is overturned during rating period, it won’t be referred to in a performance eval. In cases where overturned disciplinary actions are erroneously mentioned in report, an amended performance eval shall be written deleting references to disciplinary action. The OG performance eval may not be removed from a personnel file, but a notation shall be made on the Personnel Record Summary sheet indicating report has been superseded by an amended performance eval.
