21.1 Community Relations Programs

Management & Budget Office (MBO) shall ensure that community survey conducted every ___ years. Survey will assess morale of residential property owners in uninc. 1. Better prepare students to deal w/ peer pressure & to be less accepting of substance use.

Purpose of ___-week Citizens’ Sheriff’s Office Academy is to familiarize members of community w/ operations of Sheriff’s Office. Can include classes on patrol procedures, criminal law, narcotics, search & seizure, tactical ops, investigations, juvenile law, firearms demo, emergency vehicle ops, use of force issues, & police canine demos. To better understand role of deputy sheriff serving community, participants have option to participate in ride-along w/ deputy sheriff handling calls for service.

Community & Employee Input:
Agency policies should accurately reflect needs of community. Results of community survey, + input from neighborhood community groups such as district’s Citizen Advisory Committee & MDSO Advisory Council, shall be used to ensure community concerns addressed. Also agency employees encouraged to advise appropriate element of any community
