A

ex. when learning what a horse is, the features of hooves, a mane, long face, etc. are all added to one existing schema

A

when new information creates a new schema!

ex. when a child first sees a zebra, they might think its a horse! but through feedback they learn to recognize if a horse looking thing is small and has black and white stripes, its not actually a horse but rather a zebra!
