What are endotoxin tests?
They are critical in vitro safety tests used to detect and quantify pyrogenic bacterial contaminants in pharmaceutical products, medical devices and water.
What are the endotoxin tests?
There is the LAL reaction where LAL is added and clots in the presence of endotoxins. There is the LAL equivalent recombinant cascade reagent test using Factor C, B and pro-clotting enzyme to mimic the standard reaction. There is the gel clot method where LAL lysate is added to a tube with a sample and incubated at 37 degrees for 60 minutes to observe any clotting. There are detection assays for greater efficiency.
