1 Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray, without becoming discouraged.
1 Jesús contó a sus discípulos una parábola para mostrarles que debían orar siempre, sin desanimarse.
4 For some time he refused…
4 Durante algún tiempo él se negó…
4-5 “Even though I do not fear God nor have regard for anyone, since this widow keeps on bothering me, I am going to have to grant her justice.”
4-5 “Aunque no temo a Dios ni tengo consideración de nadie, como esta viuda no deja de molestarme, voy a tener que hacerle justicia.”
9 To some who, trusting in themselves, believed themselves to be righteous and who looked down on others, Jesus told this parable:
9 A algunos que, confiando en sí mismos, se creían justos y que despreciaban a los demás, Jesús les contó esta parábola:
13a On the other hand, the tax collector, who had remained at some distance, would not even dare to lift his eyes to heaven;
13a En cambio, el recaudador de impuestos, que se había quedado a cierta distancia, ni siquiera se atrevía a alzar la vista al cielo;
13b … instead, he [the tax collector] kept beating his breast and saying, ‘O God, have mercy on me, for I am a sinner.’”
13b … sino que [el recaudador de impuestos] se golpeaba el pecho y decía: “¡Oh Dios, ten compasión de mí, que soy pecador!”.
14a “I tell you that this man [the tax collector], and not that one [the Pharisee], returned home justified before God.”

15a As well, they were bringing little children to Jesus so he could touch them.
15a También le llevaban niños pequeños a Jesús para que los tocara.
16b Let the children come to me; do not hinder them [coming], for the kingdom of God belongs to those who are like them.
16b Dejen que los niños vengan a mí; no se lo impidan, porque el reino de Dios es de quienes son como ellos.
19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good except God alone.”
19 ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? —respondió Jesús—. Nadie es bueno sino solo Dios.
22b [To the rich ruler]: “You still lack one thing: sell everything you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me.”
22b Todavía te falta una cosa: vende todo lo que tienes y repártelo entre los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo. Luego ven y sígueme.
26 Those who heard this [it] asked,
“Then who can possibly be saved?”
27 Jesus replied, “What is impossible for human beings is possible for God.”
26 Los que lo oyeron preguntaron:
—Entonces, ¿quién podrá salvarse?
27 —Lo que es imposible para los hombres es posible para Dios — respondió Jesús.
36 When he [blind beggar] heard the crowd passing by, he asked what was happening.
36 Cuando oyó a la multitud que pasaba, preguntó qué acontecía.
40 Jesus stopped and ordered that he [the blind man] be brought to him.
40 Jesús se detuvo y mandó que se lo trajeran.
