- Hormones can trigger it
- Clogging of pores–> dead skin cells and excess sebum can block hair follicle openings
- Bacteria Growth–> Clogged pore is the perf spot for bacteria to thrive
- Can leave scars
- Topical: keratolytics, retnoids, Antibiotics
- Oral: Antibiotics, hormone therapy, isotrentinoin, oral retinol

- Mohs surgery, topical and radiation therapy

A
- Prolonged sun exposure
- Basal cells in EP get DNA damage from UV radiation–> Abnormal cell growth
- Wound care post surgery
- Surgical excision, mohs surgery

Squamous Cell Carcinoma
A
- SUn exposure
- Originates from Squamous cells in EP often due to DNA damage from UV radiation–> abnormal cell growth
- Can metastasize if untreated
- Skin biospys
- Red, firm nodule, flat leasion with scaly crusty surface
- Mohs surgery/excision

Thermal Burns
A
- Exposure to heat
- Cells get too Hot and necrose
- Watch for: hyperkalemia, fluid shits, increases metabolic rate, pain, infection
Tests: CBC, CMP, others based on severity
Meds: pain meds, Antibiotics
